A Flush is Feudal army: Scouts, archers, or Men-at-Arms. You do not have to win Feudal Age. You have to not collapse.
When to use it
Whenever you wanted to boom and they opened military. Also when you are learning. Living is a skill.
Suitable civilizations
Byzantines like this job because spears and Skirmishers are 25% cheaper. Britons can add archers and still need spears vs Scouts. Khmer can skip a building, but they still need the units.
Map, mode, and patch
Open land 1v1. No fake tower timings. Spearman and Skirmisher access is verified.
Steps and priorities
- Scout their military buildings. A Stable means spears. A Range means Skirmishers or a tower. A Barracks plus blacksmith can mean Men-at-Arms.
- Place the answering building. One Barracks and a few Spearmen stop a Scout opening from ending the game.
- Keep the Town Center producing. Repair. Garrison Khmer villagers in Houses if a raid reaches the farms.
- Do not click Castle Age while four lumberjacks are dying, unless the click is already paid and the army is already out.
- After the raid stalls, place the extra Town Center. That is the reward for holding.
Approximate timing
Feudal pressure arrives whenever they clicked up with army in mind. Your first spears should be walking before their Scouts arrive at your wood, not after the third villager dies.
How opponents counter it
They add a second composition. Scouts into archers. Archers into a tower. If you only made spears, they add Skirmishers? No: they add archers vs your spears, or Knights after they click Castle Age. Stay one step behind their building, not two.
How to adapt
If you held with leftover army, use it. If you held with six spears and nothing else, add the Castle Age plan you originally wanted, plus one building that answers their Castle unit.
